Revival Restaurant in Saint Louis Park

About the Revival Restaurant in Saint Louis Park Project

Revival Restaurant Opened Its Third Location at the Beautifully Renovated Texa Tonka Shopping Center in Saint Louis Park

Surrounding community has warmly welcomed the popular Southern-inspired eatery to its neighborhood

The popular restaurant has made its claim to Minnesota, offering up Southern style dishes that have satisfied many of our Midwest palates. The new location serves up all the classic dishes including dry rubbed wings, Tennessee hot chicken, and the Revival burger. You will find chicken & waffles with honey butter and maple syrup marking the menu, as well as Southern-inspired appetizers and sides that you would expect to taste from a chef who was raised in North Carolina. This Saint Louis Park location features signature cocktails, tap pours, and a selection of wines.

The 4,000-square-foot suburban restaurant seats about 130 diners and features a sprawling courtyard patio. Overhead roll down doors divide the indoor and outdoor dining with a pass-thru bar top, providing an open-air atmosphere. Our construction team remodeled the entire restaurant interior to include a vestibule, host station, dining and bar area, office, restrooms, commercial kitchen with serving shelf, cooler rooms, and dry storage.

In 2011, chef Thomas Boemer began his partnership with Nick Rancone at the former Corner Table where he delivered the fine dining experience for the South Minneapolis patrons. While it was rewarding, ‘fine dining can be laborious,’ he reveals. Fast-forward to 2015, and the inception of Revival was formed.

Chef Thomas’ craft was inspired during his time spent as a young adult in North Carolina. “You learned the hospitality and cooking styles from friends’ mothers. I’ll always be a person of two worlds,” he confides, having been born in Minnesota and now returned full-time resident.

“We always look to be part of the community. Site selection is important. There’s history in this shopping center and we’re becoming part of the history,” shared chef Thomas. Revival currently has five locations with plans to grow: Minneapolis – the original Revival location, Saint Paul, US Bank Stadium, Smoked Meats at the former Corner Table location, and now Saint Louis Park. Revival offers catering and food truck service.

“I learned a lot about who I was and what is important about being a chef when opening Revival. When we opened, there were lines going both ways down the street, blocking traffic, swarming the restaurant. In six months, we realized ‘this isn’t our restaurant, this is the community’s’, and we need to honor that.’”
