Interstate Development remodels its existing office to create better sight lines and utilize open space

Commercial remodel project thoughtfully delivers on communal and collaborative layout.

Feels Like Home

The structural layout and interior design of the newly remodeled office “translates the culture into a space that works really well for the team,” shared Victoria Perbix of Interstate Development.

The finishes offer flexibility in how we use the space and make it as comfortable as being at home. The ease and approachability to the design, an abundance of natural light and a seamless connection to the outdoors has elevated our office.

The former layout was fairly disjointed, closed off, and not conducive for effective team collaboration. The development team engaged Sever Construction for the buildout, KOMA for structural engineering, and BDH for architectural and interior design. Our teams fulfilled the objective to create an office that reflected their communal, sociable, and industrious culture.

The Scope

The 3,800-square-foot office was reconfigured to include a full-service kitchen with an open breakroom, where the team enjoys weekly, if not daily, lunches – that are often times made from sratch!

The new layout includes a conference room, a set of five private offices, two office nooks, open office area, lounge space, a large bank of floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook a nearby marsh, and a roll down overhead door that makes way to the parking lot.
