Stericycle
Stericycle has grown from a small start-up in medical waste management into a leader across a range of increasingly complex and highly regulated arenas. In the midst of their growth, they partnered with our construction team to renovate and remodel a former CMU building to create a new and consolidated space for their growing operations. The renovated facility is located in Eagan, MN.
The project included a complete renovation to a building that had been empty for at least five years. Work on the 50,000-square-foot manufacturing facility included demolition to the precast mezzanine; an addition of six new loading docks and two oversized drive-in docks for dumpsters. Of the 50,000 square feet, 6,300 of the space was designed for private offices, conference rooms, break areas, locker rooms and showers; the remaining 42,000 square feet was for warehouse. The renovation converted the space into a medical waste recycling plant with autoclaves, boiler room, high-power sanitary washers, and storage space.
Exterior improvements included new windows, a storefront entrances, new garage doors and frames, the enclosure of four saw-tooth docks, and a truck wash dock for semi-trailers. All new landscaping was installed, including sod, planters, trees and security fence.
